With just over two weeks to go, the number of events listed during National Astronomy Week has reached 250!
Observing sessions will take place across the country, from large observatories to local parks to the car parks of village halls… and even a cemetery! (Seriously – cemeteries are often great places to see the stars as long as the church is not floodlit, and you rarely get disturbed!)
Some of the events are meetings of a local amateur group, with stargazing afterwards if it’s clear, so check what sort of event it is before heading off. Get in touch with the organisers in advance if you’re not sure.

And we have livestreaming sessions organised for every night of the week, so if you can’t get to a public viewing session we’ll be able to bring live views of the planets direct to your phone, computer or smart TV. We have telescopes waiting across the whole of the UK and in Spain and Cyprus, so we hope to find clear skies somewhere!
If you have a telescope of your own, and there’s no event nearby that you can join, this is the ideal time to invite those friends and neighbours who have always been asking to take a look through your telescope!
